As reported by the Contra Costa Times on June 19, 2008, there is currently a buying frenzy occuring in East Contra Costa County: "Oakley had 46 sales in May, up 142 percent from last year with 78 percent being foreclosure resales. In Antioch (94509) sales rose 76.2 percent, in south Antioch (94531) sales rose 41 percent, with about 80% of homes being foreclosures. . . Brentwood's 94 homes sold and 86 pending sales, almost doubled from a year ago."
